Cross Sections

With PEP, you can see how data values changes along a line.

The above screen shot has a reference line in white, a red line showing how elevation changes along the reference line and a green line showing how albedo changes. To create a reference line, hold down the shift key while clicking and dragging a mouse. This reference line and its length are both displayed in white. Then for each data layer that is turned on, PEP computes how the data value changes along the line.

To erase all the reference and cross section lines, click on the "Delete All" button. To delete just the last, click "Delete Last".

If you want to move an existing cross section, hold down the shift key and click on the white reference line and drag it where ever you want it.

Configuration Option

Like other layers, the Cross Section Layer has Configuration Panel to adjust parameters. The cross section layer only has a single parameter:

When you change this value, the cross sections become larger or smaller. This is useful when the changes in a data layer are so small they are hard to see or so the changes are so great the cross sections go off the map.
